Frequently Asked Questions about Daily Dives​​

  • What Are Your Opening Hours?

  • Prerequisites For Joining a Guided Dive

Every person that would like to join a guided dive must present: a valid scuba diving licence, valid Scuba Diving insurance, proof of a dive from the 6 months prior to the dive they would like to do (proof of dive can be: stamped logbook, dive computer, an official email from a dive center stating the person's name and date of dive)

  • Do I Need Insurance?

Insurance is mandatory according to Israeli Diving Regulations. We have insurance that can be purchased on arrival online with a credit card or you can use the useful links page to purchase insurance right now​​

  • Are There Showers On Premises?

Hot showers are available for all the Aqua Sport divers on the premises. Ask the counter staff for this week's code to enter

  • Do You Provide Towels?

We do not provide towels. Please bring towels, shampoo, soap and anything else you might need with you

  • Where Do We Dive on Guided Dives?

  • Is There Anywhere To Sit On The Beach?

We are located at the edge of the Red Sea on a public beach. Anyone is welcome at the beach and beach chairs/beach beds are available for rent

  • How Much Time Before A Guided Dive Do I Need To Arrive?

Please arrive 30 minutes before guided dives or 45 minutes before Japanese Gardens for check-in with our staff. Make sure to bring your certification card, scuba diving insurance (or purchase on location) and your logbook which shows a dive that is within the last 6 months of arrival to Aqua Sport (if no logbook is available or you don't have a stamp from the 6 months prior to the dive you want to do, you will be required to do a refresh dive)

  • How Many People Are In A Group For A Guided Dive?

Guided dives can have anything from 1 to 8 people in a group with a certified diving professional

  • Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be received by email. Cancellations made 48 hours or more in advance of the date of activity will be charged a 5% administration fee. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the activity will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made within 24 hours or a no show will not receive a refund.

  • What Are Your Opening Hours of the office for questions or anything else?

Weekdays: 8:30 - 16:00​​​

Friday: 8:30 - 12:00

Saturday: Closed​

  • What's inside the room?

All the Aqua Sport Hostel rooms are equipped with 3 bunk beds (6 beds total), air conditioner, hot water shower, toilet, small safe and a beautiful sea view of the Red Sea.

  • What We Provide During a Stay with Us/What You Need to Bring With You?

We provide fresh, clean sheets for the beds and pillows. Please bring with you towels, a blanket and toiletries including soap, shampoo, conditioner and anything else you might need for your shower routine.

You might want to bring a towel but generally we provide you with anything you need for the dive. Please make sure you have a way to pay for the dive when you arrive if you haven't paid ahead of time

  • Where Do We Dive On Introductory Dives?

Our introductory dives are conducted at Eilat's Coral Beach which is located right in front of the dive center

  • How Many People Are With Each Instructor?

Introductory dives are conducted 1-on-1 with an instructor. If you are a group diving together, each person will have their own instructor

  • What Is The Schedule for Introductory Dives?

The whole process for introductory dives takes about 1.5 hours. You start with check-in with our staff. This includes signing a medical and policy statement, payment if not done ahead of time and getting a wetsuit and fins for the dive. After this, you will put your wetsuit on and meet your instructor for the briefing and your dive.

  • How Many Days is the Open Water Course?

5 days in Eilat and 4 days in Taba

  • What Is The Minimum Age for Scuba Diving Course?

12 years old in Eilat and 10 years old in Taba​

  • What Are Your Opening Hours?

  • What Is The Minimum Age for The Advanced Open Water Course?

12 years old for Junior Advanced Open Water Diver and 15 years old for Advanced Open Water Diver

  • What Is The Difference Between Junior Advanced Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver?

Junior Advanced Open Water Divers do not perform the Deep Dive of the Advanced Open Water Course (they do a dive to 20 meters instead of 30 meters). For all intents and purposes, Junior Advanced Open Water Divers are the exact same divers as Full Advanced Open Water Divers but they need to perform a deep dive to 30 meters upon reaching 15 years of age

  • Do You Conduct Dives In A Pool?

All dives are conducted in the Red Sea. Coral Beach which is where we are located in a ideal environment for both Confined and Open Water training

  • What Is Included In My Hostel Stay During The Course?

Each room in the hostel consists of 3 bunk beds (6 beds total) with air conditioning, bathroom/toilet, a small safe and view of the Red Sea. We do not provide blankets, soaps or shampoos. Your stay also includes an Israeli breakfast on the beach 

  • Why do the Scuba Diver, Open Water and Advanced Open Water courses have different prices for English and Hebrew?

The standard courses that we offer start on Sundays for Scuba Diver and Open Water courses and Thursdays for Advanced Open Water courses. These courses are conducted in Hebrew. For courses starting on different days or theory for other languages, we charge an additional insturctor cost ​

  • What Do We Need To Bring For Courses?

Please bring 2 passport pictures for your certification card. You can also make passport pictures at our shop on arrival. Also, please bring all the paperwork signed with you for streamlining your check-in on arrival. A laptop or smartphone is also recommended for access of extra course materials

  • When Do We Finish The Course On Thursday/Saturday?

People only doing the Open Water Course will finish their course on Thursday at about 15:00. People doing the Advanced Open Water course will finish their course on Saturday at about 15:00

  • Do I need a doctor's approval to do a course?

If you declare a yes on any question on the medical questionnaire or if you are above the age of 45, you are required to bring a Diving Physician's approval in writing in order to start the course. The medical questionnaire and diving physicians of Israel list here:

  • Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be received by email. Cancellations made 72 hours or more in advance of the date of the course will be charged an administration fee of 200.00 shekels. Cancellations made within 72 hours will be charged a fee of 200.00 shekels + 5% . Cancellations made within 24 hours or a no show will not receive a refund.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Refresh Dives

  • Do I need to do a Refresh Dive?

All divers are required to do a Refresh dive if they have not been diving within 6 months or do not hold proof of dive from those 6 months. Valid proof of dive includes: stamped logbook, dive computer, official letter from a dive center stating name and date of dive with them​

  • Do I need to do it privately or in a group?

The Refresh dive can be done in groups or in private, depending on availability and the diver's needs

  • What is a Refresh Day?

A Refresh Day is an option for divers who have not been diving for a significant amount of time. This option consists of a more thorough briefing/theory session and 2 dives with a private instructor to help the diver regain all the skills and confidence in the water

Refresh Dives

Frequently Asked Questions about Taba

  • How Do We Get to the Taba Dive Center?

If staying in Eilat, please be at Aqua Sport Coral Beach (Eilat) at 08.00 or please start crossing the border at 08.00 with your passports. We provide transportation from Aqua Sport Eilat to the Taba Border at 08.00. We do not provide transportation from the Taba Border back to Aqua Sport at the end of the day. Taxi’s are plentiful at the border and there is a bus stop right at the border.

  • Do We Need To Pay For Anything At The Border When Crossing To Taba?

Only for Boat diving - approximately 107 shekels per person

  • Do I need to bring my passport?

A passport is required for any person passing to Taba. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months to exit/enter Egypt/Israel. It is your responsibility to check if you need a visa to enter Egypt.

  • What Are Your Opening Hours?

  • Do You Conduct Dives In A Pool?

All dives are conducted in the Red Sea. Taba is located in a ideal environment for both Confined and Open Water training.​​

  • Do I Need To Pay Anything Else When Crossing To Taba?

Divers crossing from Eilat to Taba for boat diving will be required to pay border crossing fee on the Israeli side of the border (approximately 107 shekels). Divers crossing from Eilat to Taba for shore diving or courses will receive a voucher for the border crossing to show that they do not need to pay any border fees

  • Are There Showers On Premises?

Hot showers are available for all the Aqua Sport divers on the premises

  • Do You Provide Towels?

  • What Do We Need To Bring For Introductory Dives?

You might want to bring a towel but generally we provide you with anything you need for the dive. All dives in Taba need to be paid for in advance

Our introductory dives are conducted in front of the Taba dive centers straight from the beach which offers a beautiful house reef right from the start

  • Where Do We Dive on Guided Dives?

Daily shore dives in Taba depart at 09:30 and 12:30. The House Reef includes: Black Corals & The Canyons. The Taba Daily Boat trip goes to some of these beautiful dive sites: Marsa El Muqabila, The Aquarium, Maxwell’s Reef, Zak’s Tables, Topaz Gardens, Ras Amira, The Fjord, Pharaoh’s Island (also known as Coral Island)

  • Is Lunch Included On The Boat?

Hot lunch is included for the daily boat diving trip. This trip also has coffee, tea, snacks and soft drinks

  • Do Groups get discounts?

Generally yes. If you come as a group of divers to dive with Aqua Sport in Eilat and/or Taba, we offer discounts depending on group size. Please click here to contact us and ask for details.

  • Group Hostel Policy

All cancellations must be received by email. Cancellations made 21 days or more in advance of the date will be charged a 5% administration fee. Cancellations made within 21 days will not receive a refund.

  • Group Cancellation Diving  Policy

All cancellations must be received by email. Cancellations made 21 days or more in advance of the date of activity will be charged 10% administration fee. Cancellations made within 21 days will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made within 48 hours will not receive a refund.
